Monitoring the data centre or server room environment is mission critical to any organisation. In combination with an automatic system shut down module, it is a powerful means of protecting IT equipment, systems and data.
Standalone system for 24/7 data centre monitoring
Our environmental monitoring system is standalone and so does not rely on the availability of your infrastructure or network to be able to send out alerts. It also has a built in 24 hour back up battery pack for peace of mind. The system picks up alarms from the air conditioning units, UPS systems, water detection system and temperature monitor, and sends out notification messages of alerts via text message to mobile phones or email 24/7.
Intelligent monitoring and critical alert notification
For a fast response to server room issues, it's essential that the monitoring system filters the data and differentiates between critical alerts and non-critical information, warning instantly of any significant environmental anomalies. We offer an entry level alerting system and an advanced alerting system. The entry level alerting system will send all alerts as they happen in real time and the advanced alerting system filters the alerts, sending critical alerts as they happen (see table).
Controlled shut down of systems and servers
In the event of a fire within the protected area, it is essential that the data centre or server room is closed down and the power isolated. Our fire shut down system does this automatically, using a logical process that allows time for data to be backed up and servers shut down in a controlled way.
However, if the fire takes hold quicker, the process is speeded up and the room is shut down, regardless of loss of data, to help prevent the loss of equipment.
